Pulled my toilet off and it was Roots growing through the wax ring from the outside of the pipe under the foundation down the pipe four feet. I have a redwood tree that's huge 50 years old on one side of the house and I have a gardenia bush outside the bathroom three feet away, what is these roots from so I know what how to deal with it? Some say put diesel gasoline on the roots next to the pipe.

Did you feel something tickle when you sat down?
What's the point of pouring toxic chemicals in your yard? You are going to have to daylight that waste line to find the break anyway. City or septic?

It didn't break the pipe. If you up around the pipe from under the foundation and went down into the pipe as it passed the wax ring.
