Beginning chainsaw collector here 👋🏼

Just bought a tote full of Husqvarna parts saws. There’s remnants of a 365, a 340 and a 181se. I’ll attach a picture as all these are in pieces. Does husky part numbers work like Stihl where they can identity which saw the part came off of? Would like to sort through this pile and as best I can divide by each saw. Thanks!

No, that's one of my beefs with Husky. It looks like everything in the first picture is 181 except for the 365 carcass and the cylinder to the far right. 2nd pic, Idk about the bag but everything that isn't the 340 carcass appears to be 181 stuff.

So of these two cylinders the one with the muffler and carb would be for the 181? And is there anything to do about the presumed mag rot to both these cylinders?

Also appears that I’m missing everything in between the case halves.

After sandblasting would they be usable?
Just do the outside with a soda or very fine glass media.
Pictures of the cylinder plating inside are required to determine whether they are usable.
If the plating isn't badly chipped or worn a simple cleaning with a green scotch brite works well.

Here’s one of the cylinder. It doesn’t appear to be very bad.

And here’s the other cylinder. There is a small path with some chipping. Doesn’t look as good as the other one.

Like I mentioned earlier, I’m just a beginner, so this may be a tricky question for you guys to answer over the internet.

What kind of reputation does the 181se have? Is a this one that worthy of a rebuild? I don’t have a saw this big yet. My biggest is a 038av super. Or is this best to just be parted out? It’s in rough shape and would need parts. Give me some options and guidance. Thanks!

Ive heard the 181se was the top 5cube saw in race class for years and was very respectable in many circles.
Definitely worth the effort to rebuild.
