Seems like a feasible idea. The idea being they will stay flat over time better than normal lumber. Im sure they need more support laterally as they my be “floppy” I would think? I generally span the spacing between the 2 first cut boards with a 2x4 any way so im assuming this would work with trex to.

Thoughts?

Im just trying to find a longer term solution to first cut rails over 2x4’s and fighting with keeping them straight. Right now I have them all screwed together trying to keep them straight but they are only a few weeks old and about useless from bowing.

Im considering buying two 12’ pc’s and trying it out.

By rails - do you mean guide boards for chainsaw millng? My experience with Trex is the older 1 1/2" material I used on my deck - on 16" centers. Once down and secure, it stays straight but is subject to expansion/contraction with swings in temp. If not secured, they will flex/sag if not supported.
