    Hemlock Braches

Was wondering to best way to cut large hemlock branches off. They are all about 15 to 25 ft. in length. They range for 6'' to 9'' in diameter. I under stand the under cut and top cut closer to the trunk (cut fast) The last time I did limbs like this I under cut them and as soon as I touched the top with the saw they snapped. Mostly landing flat but some did hit top first and spring out. Any suggestions

After making the top cut and the limb pops off either with ur hand or foot as the limb is falling give the but end a little nudge to flip the flip over once. With practice you will be able to flip them to always land flat.

When those branches spring it cause so serious damage. If in doubt rig them out.

If you can, cut it in sections. Reduce the weight from the tip to the base. If not, rig it.

Increase the distance between your under and top cuts. Or maybe not so deep on the undercut.
