    Still Having piston kit problems

    i had a problem with an 034 piston kit, having the wrong thickness of wrist pin clips. I could slide the wrist pin through the clips when installed. I called and got a new one. Received the new one and still have the same problem. Seems like the wrist pin groove is too deep. The clip only fills the groove and does not hold the wrist pin in. I have one very upset customer because the first time his wrist pin slid out and scored the cylinder, and I was the one who said baileys piston kits were great and that I could fix the saw for cheaper than buying a stihl kit and everything would be up to par because they are a great company. Now i'm two kits in and both have the same problem.

    i brought the kit to a machine shop and he said no way are they right and also agreed that the groove was too deep.

    Now what?

    Sorry about that. I've had the warehouse pull all of our inventory of those kits and had them sent to me for inspection. If I can find some that will pass inspection, I'll head one your way ASAP. If the whole batch is bad I'll replace it with an OEM piston because of the time lag to get them across the water.
    It will be 7-1 or 7-2 til I get my hands on the pistons that need inspection. I'll order some OEM ones today so I'll have them if the inspection doesn't go well.

    That would be great. I hate being the squeaky wheel but the one I have is definatly not right. Let me know. I tried calling today and was supposed to get a call back but never did. I am stuck now with a very frustrated customer.. I'm in the middle just like you. Isn't that always the case..

    Howdy,
    I got a look at the 034 piston kits. They have a 0.8mm x 10mm piston pin clips instead of the 1.0mm x 10mm they should have. The manufacturer is sending some by air freight. As soon as we can get them in the kits will start shipping them again. If anybody out there is reading this and has purchased a PKS 034 kit, please contact us and we'll get you taken care of also.
