Got a stupid question. My 22" poulan pro bar say its 3/8 050, but 3/8 050 chain does not fit. The junk oregon safety chain that came with it appears to be .325. Anyone know what chain the bar actually takes?.

Its 3/8s low profile probably. That chain is .365 instead of .375 which is regular 3/8's. I think you want to get a low profile 3/8's. I like the Woodsman Pro 30LP from Baileys. Really wakes up those smaller saws.
I always wondered why the S25 series saws never came with dawgs/bucking spikes since these were regarded as a pro saw of their time. I also wondered what the 2 little holes next to the bar adjust were for. Well I figured it out. Turns out Poulan DID offer a spike or "spur" as they call it. I found a NOS one the other day. I must say looks cool on the saw! The only problem was getting 25 years of saw dust mixed with sap out of the threads. Now i just need a bad a$$ sugi bar like Ohiogreggs! Check it out.
Hid for 25 years

Whats cool is the spike is adjustable, you can put it lower than this.

Here you can just see the lower spike.

I figured if anyone had one you did. I only seen one other. there is a guy who sells S25s on the 'bay. Seems like he knows his stuff, and his saws always look good. Anyway he had a black and red re-badged craftsman with a factory spike on it.

I know when I was service mgr at a shop here in Lexington, they quit making the metal body & started making them out of nylon. Did they revisit the metal body. The one that the felt was held on with a clip, with a pressed steel fiber secondary filter disc down in the bore of the filter body. They made an up to 30 cc & a 50 cc. What Im looking for HAS to be the old style.
