Fair enough. I do like the MS660, it's one of favorites. Just telling it like I see it.

What is real wood? This real wood crap is a joke. Real wood is what you are cutting and when you are cutting it.
Just goes to show how little many know about performance gains.

BTW, a good modded 372 or 460 will beat a Stock MS660 (Same size bar and chain) in any size wood, it has been done time and time again.

Slinger, if it were that simple, there would be no need for manufactering saws over 70 cc. Fact is that modded saws have a higher performance output, no doubt about it. I however never see facts about :

    - noise levels compared to stock saws
    - durability (how many hours do modded saws run compared to stock saws)
    - fuel consumption
    - safety issues (only applicable if you have employees running modded saws)
    - cost to mod a saw (and I don't mean drilling some holes in a muffler)

In my opinion, there is a place for modded saws just like there is a market for race cars. I see the majority of car owners buying affordable, dependable cars that get the job done. Not everyone needs a V8 corvette to go from A to B, unless you are in an some form of official competition.

I could care less about about the differences, I was simply stating that a modded 372 or 460 will out cut a stock 660 in the same wood, same bar and chain.
I am very well aware of the differences, I did not pick up my first saw yesterday.

By using the same analogy a tuned 2 liter turbo Import car (which can run the quarter quicker than an American stock 5.7ltr v8) is a much better engine right? I think not. Big saws were made for big bars and when they enter the realm of smaller saws they tend to get their asses handed to them. Apples to apples people. My 7900 eats my buddies 066 in 15 inch wood. But if I have a big job to do I grab his big saw as it is better for that job.

I do not know anything about saws compared to some on this site nor do I claim to.

the idea that a big saw is beat in small wood is like saying my 5.9l cummins gets beat in the 1/4 mile by a civic, probably would happen but put 10k worth of trailer on the back and race again...
but I know a mere nothing about this so i will shut up now.

I just wonder if you put that ported 372 to a 40+ inch bar and sunk it all in something would the results be the same.
