    Hey, is that you Tommy?

A tree that diameter, never mind the length, would be exceptional out here on the east coast. I`d better get my 6 year old out west before you guys turn `em all into lumber. LOL.

At first thought, I believed it was just another sawed off woodtick, but no, upon further examination of the picture, I realized it was one of the tame apes who roamed "the jungles" from California to Alaska, following the logging camps. They were blood brothers to the railway hoboes. Some say they were hatched out behind stumps when the strong spring sun melted the snows of winter and the stumps steamed in the warm spring sunshine. It was then they appeared and jumped around in the slashings. When the snow got deep again and the wolves howled, they disappeared for the winter.

Thanks Tommy for posting that picture of me in the glory days. Do you guys know what model saw I was using? And since I'm only 5'6" how big is the cut? Used to cut timber like that all the time. That was a bugged Sugar pine salvage tree which you can't cut any more because of the 30" rule on the Lassen Nat. forest. Now those kind of trees go to waste unless its a danger to a road or campground. I have been going to post some pictures of some race saws and logging but had to buy a scanner. Will start posting some soon. Dennis

Mr. Cahoon...that would appear to be a 920/930 in that picture...I have several of them myself that I use on a regular basis, as well as a hot pair for a double ender...I will check my Remington stock out...

    910/920

    Dennis,
Good call, it is a 910 or 920 Jonserd can't remember which. Never owned the 930. Good saw expect for the rubber mounts on the back handle, to flimzey. And a little small for that wood. Wait till you see how we loaded that log. Will post a picture or two soon, just to show Gypho how a real Gypho Logger does it.

Yeah, its gotta be the 920 then...looks identical to the 930 pretty much...the 910 had a different handle and top cover design if I recall correctly... I will see if I can't dig those tips up today and give you a call...

Hey!!! Just a minute here D.C. if anybody is going to get a roller nose out of D.G. it's going to be me along with about a half mile of 1/2" pitch chain that he has ruined for me.

Don't turn him loose with your 500. Just a piece of advice.
