    FB,

I've had a Stihl BR600 for several years. I'm very pleased. Very easy to start and not as noisy as some blowers. Be sure to use Stihl Ultra in your mix.

Probably not THE most powerful, but close. With all things considered, I'd call it a "great buy".

    Good luck,

Ya I know a guy that had the same one and I used in a few times and I liked it I was just wondering what else was out there. But its a good possibility that I am going to end up with the BR600.

Yea man - Eric's BR600 is SWEET, thats for sure!!! That thing moves some serious air!! I just can't seem to find any other backback blowers, that move the same CFM as the big Stihl does!!!

I'd love to stay with Husky - but if the Stihl is the best......

Check out the Shindaiwa blowers if you have a dealer near you, specifically EB802 or EB8520, they're both very powerful and super comfortable.

The husky blowers (at least the larger ones) are the redmax blowers, with a few cosmetic changes. The redmax blowers are very good and the choice of 90%+ of lawn care pros in my area.

If you're at all tempted by the hip mounted left hand throttle rather than the tube mount throttle, you'll need to look at redmax, echo or shindaiwa, as neither stihl nor husqvarna offer this option.

The husky/redmax blowers offer a larger air filter than the stihl--not a huge point either way unless you do a ton of blowing in dusty conditions.
    Saws: Husky 346xpg NE, 550 xpg, 372xp, 576xp, 3120xp; Jonsered 670, Stihl MS 211, Stihl 064 [project] (coil/ignition needed)

Other 2stroke OPE: Stihl FS 450, Stihl Km-90 (string trimmer, paddle broom, pole saw, hedge trimmer), Stihl TS 420 (cut quick), Stihl BG 85, Echo SRM 230, Redmax EBZ 7500, Husky 325HS75X

The Husky 170/180 is the Redmax EBZ7100 and the 180 is the EBZ8001. Both are excellent blowers that are proven machines. We has 7001's or 8001's at my last golf course and they took alot of abuse getting beat around in carts and blowing sand, but they ran flawlessly. They were a tad heavy compared to the 5100 or a Shindy 630 but you could still run them for a while without feeling it.

I'd say if you can afford them, either one would be great, although you might as well spend the extra $30 and get the 180. I'd say away from the 356 as it's not as proven as the other two.

If I was going to buy any blower today it would be the Shindy 802. It's more powerful than the 8001 and weights 5-6 lbs less.

Husky 165 BT, real nice. Starts with one pull, no matter what temperature. That says a lot.
