Exclamation stalling problem with 046m and 440

Hello, i was wondering if anybody had the same problem and had a solution, I have a 046 that every once awhile when your not running full rpm it likes to die out, then pull it over and starts again, except sometimes have to choke it, also have a friend with a ms440 that does the same, even idling sometimes, when u run full bore it never does it, could it have something to do with the ignition coil, doesn't seem like a fuel problem??? recently put new spark plugs, fuel filters and lines in. i run 100 av gas and hp injector oil.

Do they idle fine otherwise? The L may be set wrong causing a low idle. If it's intermittent, I doubt that is your problem though. Could be the coil or it's wiring also, any of the wires frayed or broken in the insulation?

Your sig line contains a 440, if that one is problem free try swapping the coil when your buddies 440 is acting up. Remember to set the gap right.

What do you use to set gap? I heard somewhere that a dollar bill is right. Thoughts?

Hmm, might be in the gray area where the hi-speed needle is taking over for the low speed, so maybe the bogging is created by a slow transition? I would think a bit more L or H, maybe both would solve the problem.

If the tank vent is in question, try this. Fill the tank about half full or enough that you can crack the fuel cap open and not pour mix all down your leg. Tilt the saw and crack the cap when the saw starts to act up. If it clears up, clean or replace the vent.
