I always thought it was cool but never had a saw to pull something that long until this past spring when I got my 395xp. So the other day I took a little closer look at the bar. It is a stihl mount so I will need to get adapters, but it is .058 gauge, 3/8 pitch so it will work on the 395. Last time I was looking at the bar my dealer told me he would let it go for $100, so this time I offered him $90 and took it home. I bought a oregon 73jg chain to go on it, but I think I got the wrong d/l count. I got 122 and the cannon site shows it is a 123 d/l bar, shouldnt be a big deal to add a link though. Anyway heres a couple of pics.

Nice bar TS, you got a good deal too! The only problem with the adapter is that it limits your adj. travel by at least one drive link. If you use a 7T, you may not have to add a drive link if you have the 395 using an 8T I think the 7T would be the ticket with a bar that long.
The only complaint I ever had about Cannon bars is that the bar groove is cut to very close tolerance and I found it would get impacted with sawdust in the cut when new, causing the chain to be stuck in the bar groove.
This usually entails, loosening the chain to clear it out or a complete removal of B&C to clean the B&G with a B&G tool.

I think Timberwolf has adapted them somehow. I've got a Stihl large mount solid tip 36" bar, it's pretty much a wall hanger though.

    You'll like a 28" bar on a 395.

Thanks for the tip, I did notice that the chain had very little slop in the groove compared to the oregon bars. I am not sure what driver is on the saw now, as it came with a 24" bar and pulled it very well. But I am going out to the shop for a smoke right now so I will have a look.

A beer goes well with a smoke, so take your time Lol
If you find the chain won't mount due to shortness, I've gone so far as removing clutch drum, then mounting bar, chain, sprocket and drum as one unit.
Since the chain will stretch after use somewhat, it shouldn't be necessary to reverse the process to get the chain off if need be. I did this because I hate two left or right handed cutters following each other, not that that really matters in the whole scheme of things. That's why I hate 18" bars. It seems we can only get left and right hand cutters following each if the DL count is divisible by 2. On full comp chain anyway. Skip or semi skip I don't know.

The 28" is what I really wanted but the price was right for the 36" so that is what I have for now. I have cut lots of biggun's with a 24" by boring them, but thought it would be nice to have a long bar for those big trees.

A 7T should afford at least one more DL of travel and more torque to boot which should help keep your new bar clear of impacted sawdust.

Its whiskey for me right now as I'm just getting over a cold.
This is the first skip chain I have bought. I figured it would pull full comp, but then there is a lot less teeth to sharpen on the skip.

That whiskey is wicked stuff, and I never know what kind of post I'm gonna make. That stuff got me banned more than a few times! Should PUI be a defence? Are we responsible on AS for what we say when PUI drinking whiskey?

Anyway, I used a full skip 13" B&C on a 346 and I think it only had 14 cutters to file, but it sure flew with an 8T.
I'll stick with the beer for now. Lol

A bit off topic, but I've been contemplating the possibility of establishing wild turkeys here in my area. Their range isn't that far north but they do have pigeons here. The only predators that are here that Southern Ontario doesn't have are Lynx, Martin, Fisher and Wolverine. Turkeys are tough and we had a better winter here this year than S. Ontario had.
Can you send me some S. Ont. turkey's?

Sending them alive might be a problem as most of the turkeys I have contact with are dead. I know that they live up in shield country here in Ontario, so maybe in a nice sheltered valley in the Yukon they would do alright? Here is everything you need to know about turkeys in Ontario http://www.mnr.gov.on.ca/200271.pdf

Lol, I'll settle for the dead ones as long as their not past the expiry date! lol

Thanks for the link, I guess it's best to get the hatchlings.

This area abounds with lots of feed for them like moss berries and cranberrys etc.

When in Ontario, I noticed they would become quite trusting as long as you walked around at the same speed they did, but when a turkey bow hunting forester showed up they would take off really fast.

When they got used to me they moved into my random length firewood pile to sleep with their pullets and got really annoyed at me for having the odacity to disturb them with felling skidding activity, but they sure liked following behind the skidder after the logs turned up the soil so they could eat, worms, bugs, plants etc.
I feel they are at least as smart as deer and have similar habits.
