    I need some help on a 031AV

The 031AV I got the other day...I rebuilt the carb, made sure the tank and filter was clean. The impulse line is good. It starts easy, idles fair but won't rev up. I'm thinking the points need cleaning. I've never tore into a 031 and don't want to go in unarmed. I need an IPL and a shop manual, and advice from you guys with experience with this saw.

Take off the pull starter and look at the top of the flywheel, there should be 2 access plugs on the flywheel, you can clean and gap them there, set at .016

That right there is why we keep him around!

Just goes to prove that if you "come to" on a pile of Stihls enough times, some of what you find out while trying to remember where you are and how you got there will stick with you.LOL
