I just wandered out in the shop and saw the 340 on the bench, my brother borrowed it right after it came back from the dealer for service. The chain was very dull and both tanks were empty....I think I'll keep all my nice saws at home and keep buying cheap saws for work/loaners as no one seems to look after them

I could buy the 346 now before it goes e-tech and have it all set up for when the Co. takes the 357, hows that for logic!...

On a side note, the 340/345 are great for when a friend or family memeber wants to 'borrow a saw'.
That sounds like great logic to me!

I haven't used a 346xp,but had a 357xp and was disapointed with it. It worked great for probably 10-15 tank fillings and then started to have carb problems.I could never seem to get it right. I ended up trading it on a stihl ms361 and am very happy i did. If your dealer can guarantee better results with a 346xp I would go with it. Oh and btw-357xp are way heavier that 346xp or even ms361!
