WTF tool do you need to adjust this? First one that's come to my bench with these funky jet screws. I half-assed it and got it tuned, finally, but where do I find a tool to do this the easy way, should I ever run across this crap again?

It is indeed a Poulan "WeedEater" edger. PIA to work on! How do they fit so much plastic on a 22cc machine? Be glad to give this thing back her tomorrow!

I've been looking on Bailey's, actually. Prob just order a couple for the sake of having.

Thanks.

If your wife, girlfriend or neighbor has a #9 knitting needle and you can talk them out of it you can pull the top off the aluminum shaft and the soft aluminum will grip the splines easily so you can do your adjusting. That is what I use on my poulan saw, works perfect. Otherwise the option is to order the aforementioned tool.

Now that's my kind of inovation! I'll see if my monster-in-law will part with one of her old lady needles. Thanks!

oh damn. I wish id known that before I ponied up $10 for mine. Not that its a lot of money, but it would be way cooler to have a knitting needle in my saw tool box!!

You should be seeing alot more of those splined needles if you work on Husqvarna products. Most if not all saws made/assembled in the USA have thenm on it. A lil trick for the 400 series saws......there is a slot for a screwdriver on the needle and a sliding locking collar around the splined portion. The EPA adjustment tool work likes its supposed to but a flat tip screwdriver can be used but its a pita. You have to pushdown the locking collar (and it will stay locked down, then you have one turn on the spline in either direction......then you have to push down the locking collar again and repeat. A real pain but works in a pinch.

Well to each there own. Had been a Sthil man most of my life, till I got a Husqvarna. Now mainly a Husky and J-red man. It all depends upon personal preferance, but as a tech, I truly do enjoy working on Huskys, and got reminded about Stihls when I recently acquired and 026. Neither company has more failures or issues than the other as 99% is owner/operator fault.

Take a pair of hemostats and pull them suckers out and slot em with a dremel, never another problem and only a screwdriver needed.
all my saws,no limiters, all slots..same tool for all..
