    Ill get a pic
but now that the stuff i cut is dryn out its turning red. maybe the bark just looks difrent to me because this tree is green a blow down from this winter.

i got to thinkn i bet its bigger then 40"s im cutn stuff to 28" bar tip and theres a long stinkn ways to go get to but of the tree. its 50yds off the rd up the steep mtn side. i was haven a hard tim buckn rds . the tree is quartering down the hill. i limbled it but left 4 or 5 big branches to keep it from rolling. these branches are perfect cookie cutting stuff for 361's there 10-15"s

anyways but yeah ill get pics. maybe a vid of the 440 buckn with the 32". man its been awhile since i made a wood cutting vid

It's the start of my firewood season also...
The snow, mud, and cold are gone and the days are nice.
I'll cut and stockpile wood till the summer heat sets in, then break from it until the heat has broken and it's nice enough to be out there making sawdust.
I'm REALLY glad I'm not in Phoenix or the desert regions of the state, supposed to be 110 to 112 degrees there next weekend.

Holy crap Kevin.....are you way up in the mountains ?

How cold does it get there?

I'm in eastern canada, and that looks like enough to do me for the winter.

I think the guy that gave it to me said it was a 36 inch saw.
I have know way to know. It looks like the blade part sticks out about 18.5" past the yellow part

I'm in the mountains about 5300 ft elevation.
Last winter, we had a few nights below 0 degrees F but a LOT of nights in single digits.
    Lots of cold days too.
If I can finish closing in my house I'm trying to build I won't use as much wood to stay warm.
I personally burned just shy of 7 cords and sold the rest.
I'm hoping to accumulate another big amount for this next winter.
I hate getting cold and need the extra income badly.

A perfect combination to keep a person very, very busy. Wish I had 10 cord of oak to send your way.

Keep up the cutting. Keep up with the off-the-grid!

    What kinda tree

Looks like spruce to me. Doug fir is redder, especially the heart wood, Ponderosa has thick bark. White fir is the soft needles and thick bark. Spruce has needles that stick you.
There are several types of spruce though.
    That wood was heavy!

What I cut is Shaggy bark Juniper (Utah Juniper technically is what it's called).
Hard to find oak around here.
