    Pioneer Partner ID help needed.

Trying to narrow this one down. Serial number is 2960148A and the casting in the cylinder is 341160. Are there any close relatives to this saw?

Pictures seem to be the best way to go, so here they are:

I'm leaning towards a 7000. A bore measurement will tell for sure. The 550 and 650 were close. Just a guess though.

One thing is for sure - regardless what model it is, there will be a "pure" Partner that is the same saw.

It is either a 550 or a 7000, these were the only saws of this style produced with the Partner-Pioneer name, all others were just Partner.

Pioneer/Partner didn't produce a single saw, it was just a marketing brand, created by E-lux - Pioneer did and Partner did, and they just were branded P/P on the NA market for a while.

E-lux eventually formed the Poulan Pro brand on the remnants of P/P.

Went down to the shop and took a dental impression. Had the patient bite down on a Popsicle stick and I get 50mm bore. So does this narrow it down to the 7000? Based on any older Partners? Any Elux saws share parts?

Sorry, the only saws sold of this type in the USA, under the Partner Pioneer name, were the 550 and 7000. This info comes direct from the one time midwest Partner distributor Jonas Equipment in Wisconsin, I called him today and he gave me the info. Any other size saws of this model would be under the Partner name only and not the Partner Pioneer name. Sorry saw troll I said they manufactured saws and I didn't say E-lux did. B.F.D. And the distributor I spoke to said they may have had different size saws of this type in Europe but not in the USA, these were the only two models 550 and 7000 of that model saw under the Pioneer Partner neme he had ever Imported. By the way to anyone in the USA he still has thousands of parts for any type Partner saw, two large buildings full and a huge amount of Alpina/Castor as they were their importers also.

    P7000 it is then?

What is the difference between a P7000 Plus vs. P7000?

The 650 also is listed on Acres site, as a P/P, and no-one has proven that info wrong. I dont trust all the info there though.......

About 10% in power according to general comments - a bit more according to specs.

From my understanding this was mainly achieved by a large bore ungoverned carb and a better flowing muffler.
