Hi there, im ordering a flywheel puller and new points for my stihl 056av super, and my stihl 045av pro 5. because both saws will run very hot and use a lot of gas, then after a short while it will shut off. thanks to all of you guys experience and help, its the points. and i have a few questions
    1. since the stihl 045 and 056 are very similar, im assuming that the points are the same to?
    2. and how hard is it to take off the flywheel with the puller, and replace the points? is it pretty straightfoward?

Maybe he has a lot of 056 saws with the same problem.
A 4-stroke is merely a 2-stroke that has a rest every other turn.

My own: 056, Pioneer 620 (Got to get around to)

Maybe he meant to ask for the max RPM of a MAC 101 in this thread?

I would'nt count on the parts being the same. When you take it apart you will find out.
Those big saws use alot of gas to begin with. Also if it's running hot give it a good cleaning,....crud off the cyllinder, starter housing, flywheel, make sure the muffler is not blocked and leaking from the cyllinder. These saws have a tendancy to crack the muffler at the cyllinder flange. The thing should be pulling your shirt in through the starter housing by how much air its moving. Could be lean as well, but you'd find that out quick. good luck
