I am trying to find info on the john deere 70v. I picked one up from the owner and he says it runs but the fuel boils and gets vapor lock. I think it is a rebadged echo.
thanks pat

I think just about all the parts interchange JD 70V 70cc same as 702evl echo.
JD 60V 60cc = echo 602 evl. I believe displacement is the only differance in all these.
Thanks for more info! Any ideas why the gas tank would heat up and vapor lock?

Timing maybe retarded from wear to the rear of the points contact. Just a guess, don't know.
No not yet, I will get to it later this weekend.

Your wrong with that info. I already told what Echo model it is. Its a 702
Fine to thank him but he is mistaken on that saw model.
John your correct on that, there almost the same except displacement. They even share a IPL.
The CS-750 is also near the same but has some differences, besides displacement.

The CS-701's were gone by the time JD started using the CS-702's. The vapor lock / boiling gas is common in the hot weather. I boiled gallons of it this summer. The saws run great now since it cooled off and the gas dosen't boil. You JD 70V sn should start with 00, 01, 02, or 03...Bob
