Here was our Sunday. 18*F and 30-40 mph winds, we burned 6 gallons of mix in one day with 441's and dropped about 3 acres of pretty good hardwood. It was work, but we were having fun .... does that count?

With 30+ mph winds you didn't have to wonder where the trees were going, ........... regardless of lean, LOL.

    The landing was brutal:

"For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth (Matthew 12:40)."

Modern celebrations of Christianity are greatly distored. Look up where the root word for Easter comes from. The popular interpretation of when the crucifixion and rising of Christ took place is arbitrary at best. No one has ever been able to explain to me how to fit three days and three nights between Friday and Sunday morning. Especially if you consider that their day started and ended at 6pm. Christ was almost certainly born in the fall, not in December. Bringing a tree into the house and decorating it is expressly forbidden in Leviticus. We have strayed a long ways from traditional celebrations. The important thing is: I believe Jesus died for my sins and rose again, and I take a day to rest with family and friends. I will run a saw for fun on my rest day.

Cutting in the woods is my "church". It feels like a religous experience because it enlightens my soul, brings me peace, and seems like someone is always watching over me.

Give it up, kid. Its his landing, not yours, I'm sure yours is better, blah, blah, blah.
Cut all day-then we'll refuel If you don't know where you are going, any road will get you there.

I have my opinion and I intend to express it. . .

Its just not a landing, a landing is what it sounds like, a place where the logs go to get processed and sent to the mill, or just sent to the mill. A truck goes into the sunk down hole and gets loaded, same spot every time, next to the loader.

I never did any type of comparing so save the mine is better nonsense. . .

I often talk to God when I cut wood and He often gives me the strength that I need to lift those big rounds from the ground to the tailgate.
I couldn't agree more, just looking around at the scenery and finally stopping to take time to enjoy the world we live in.

Yeah, my team ain't worth watching either, and now I'm thinking about painting or selling all my orange and black saws.

I work a small farm, so like one said, I do what I can when I can, and pray for good weather on Sunday.

When I was a kid you couldn't even find anyplace open to buy gas!!! And the Lord would surely strike you down for firing up a saw. The good old days?
A strong back and a weak mind have left me with the " if yer gonna be stupid, you better be tough" mentality
