The 262, 266 268 and 272 I believe all share the same crankcase. Part # for the models made from 1993 on for the 266 crankcase are 501 68 52-63. thats the complete case, right and left halves, sorry, I cant find numbers for each individual half.

I've got a running Jonsered 670, generally a husky 266 with a different carb on it. if you want it Pm me.

The 262 uses a different case from the 266/268/272.

You won't find numbers for individual case halves because case halves are not sold separately.

I ran a search on ebay but could only find ones that have sold in the near past, looks like ones that are suppose to be in running condition are going in the $175 to $200 range. Heres one of them

The only family of saws that share parts with a Husky 262 is the 154 and 254 and they are seen less often than a 262. The 262 was an early Hot Rod type factory saw. It was a high reving saw, and that made good power. I think I may have a case, with crank, for a 262. I will dig around and please Email me for a picture if you are interested. Mike

The piston and cylinder from a 262 will bolt on to the 257 model. The 262 I am using now is put together this way.

The current part # for that crankcase assm. is 501 86 00 04. I looked through our boneyard and didn't see any. If you decide to go new it's $140.20. When you're searching used, the same cases also fit 254's 1994-2001 / 257's 1994-2001 / 261's 1998-1999.

this saw is baffleing me, its gettin gas, its getting spark, itll fire momentarily every time you pull it over but wont run. i started the low jet 1 turn out, and as i lean it out the momentary firings get longer. since the opposite usually happend i figured id better seek advice.

Did you rebuild the carb? Check your intake boot/isolation block also for a gasket that may be compromised.
