    Redmax 5000, DDJ

    Hi
I went to that saw races this week end and I introduced two new entries. One was the new PP5000 Redmax and the other was DDJ. DDj stands for dozerdan Jr.
The little 5000 blew away the competition. DDJ also took a first place with that saw and also won a first in the 4 cube and under with a PP365.
I do owe a special thanks to Copsey Race Chains for setting me up with some chains for these saws. Or should I call him the woodsmartin ?

This little 5000 will hold 13500-13600 in the cut with the muffler on it, more with the pipe on it.

Do you owe thanks to Eric or EHP, Seems to me from the Crapsy chain I looked at is and exact copy of Ed's. Go figure.

Mark,I'm sure if you look under the hoods at a Nascar race all the top preformers will look alike. After years of evolution do you really think that fast chains will look much different from each other? Did you invent the personal computer and the internet or just learn how they work and figure out how to make a living with them? Was everything you learned self-taught or did anyone ever show something works?

Pau that being said I have a very open mind and always thank the people that have helped me along the way. Including you for the parts. The chainsaw community is small and we all know where things come from. Why just last week I saw a picture of a saw barrel that doesn't even resemble mine. I wonder where that one came from.

Like a memember her posted "where there's smoke there's a fire" we all need to give credit to where credit is due. Some of us know about that chain and saw.

As for me looking under the hood of a NASCAR NOT me hell I don't even own a tv set.

I have no Idea as to how Eric learned to make a good chain, nor do I care to know. I do know that he made the chain for me and I thanked him for making it for me. Did someone help him along the way? Probably. Didn't anyone ever help you with anything? If not I can understand why. Do you think that Ed made the first race chain in the world? Don't you think that anybody ever helped him? Do you think that Ed or Ken ported the first saws in the world? Don't you think that anyone ever helped them?
Yes I have had some help along the way and I do thank all of those people for that information that they have shared with me. Most of what I have learned has come with hands on experience.
I gave credit where credit was do, to the man that made me the chain.
If I got my information correct. The little 540 Dolmar that I built would run real close to your 357. This 5000 walks all over that 540. I guess my teachers taught me well.

From what I read on the forum Ken Dunn has given you most of your information. Is that true?

    Hi
Glad to see that we have new user's signing up all of the time.
If you look in some of the older threads, you will find Kens phone number.
Call him and ask him how many conversations that we ever had about building saws.
I think that you will find that it is less then 6.
At any rate, I do thank him and any other for the help that they offered me along the way.

Thanks I think I will give him a call. What kind of port timing do you use for a woods modified saw, lets say a 372 or a 046?

The same numbers don't work for every saw. As Dan has mentioned in the past, you have to play with every new model to see what numbers it likes best, sort of like which beer and pizza each person likes best, and which beer just makes them shoot their mouths off.
