    Anyone recognize this top handle?

    Craftsman Chain Saw

    I'm looking for a cheap top handle to do light work, mostly left over tops from logging. I don't need a hause of a saw, just something light and cheap. Called this guy and he didn't know the model number but said he'd take less than $50 for it. Curious if anybody recognized it and if it is worth buying. I can fix pretty much any problem it may have, but don't want junk.

    Yes, Poulan micro. Make sure it pumps oil before you buy it.

    Make sure it doesn't burn white smoke with running. I have seen a few of those with problems with the duckbill in the oil tank.

    Bought a Mac 1010-A from a fellow on Friday who also had a Craftsman one for sale. I have too many of the top handled Poulans now without dragging another one home.

    Depending upon displacement it may be a Poulan, 1800, 2000, 2300 or 2400, just to name a few. Those aren't bad little saws. Make sure it has good fuel lines and tuned correctly. Good little limbing saws. Looking at the picture it appears to have a 16 or 18 inch bar. I would vote for a 2300.

    Thanks for the reply's. I figured Poulan made these saws for Sears, but since he wouldn't give me a model number, I was kind of at a loss. I'll go look at it tomorrow evening and make him an offer he can't refuse..............lol.

    I'll be sure to check the oil/fuel lines.

    ummmm

    looks like craftsman 2.0 which also known as a poulan micro good lil saw think its about 34 cc if its a 2.0 real easy fuelline replacement!!! modified mark just did a pic tutorial not that long ago shows you how to do it step by step!!!!great read!

    I wouldn't worry about if it pumps oil or not before purchase. The part is $5 to fix it and a 10 minute job if not. BTW those are good saws.

    I've had several of those and they're good little saws. They're not too heavy even though they are metal, mostly and those are very easy to work on. I think I'd try to get it for less than $40 if possible. $20 some to around $40 is the average price for one that runs although in my opinion they should bring more.

    thats a good saw for topping tops of trees, if your a climber. its nice. worth the price i guess. all trimming saws are expensive so id go for it man.
