I have a stihl ms 270 and I believe the roller bearing under the sprocket needs lubricant. What should I use?

If you're gonna be DUMB, you better be TOUGH
Cutting with a dull chain is like taking a shower and putting your dirty underwear back on.
Good tools cost money, cheap tools cost more
Dang, How many Cubic Dollars is that saw?
That sounds like a great idea, let me saddle up my Unicorn and I'll go with you...

there might even be a weep hole on the shaft just for that purpose. I use my bar nose greaser and press it into the hole at the end if the shaft. Seems some brands/models have it and some don't. I'm pretty sure my husky 359 has it. Not sure about stihl.

I just use 30 weight motor oil, it's in a oil can, so I just squeeze the lever a few times and pump it full of oil. Works excellent. I do this every other time I sharpen the chain. Part of my maintenence scedule for the saws. Never had a problem. (knock on wood, don't need Murphy to fall on me anytime soon)

Hold on a minute... are we talking about the sproket on the nose of the bar, or the one that the clutch drum rides on? If it's the former, my post above is what I do. If it's the latter, I use some good bearing grease.
edit: stupid me... I read the title of the thread. The first post was a cluster####. I apologise for that.
