Thread: To p&p or to not p&p, that is the question

I recently ordered a 7900 p&c kit for my Makita 6401 from one of the sponsers here and I'm curious if I should port and polish. Are there really any measurable gains? I'm not looking for what it "feels" like, I want to see some measured data.

That said, the poll is for would you or would you not p&p in my case?

Nope not kidding and yep I read through every single post from that thread but what I dont see are measured results from before and after. Don't get me wrong, it was a great article on the porting specs and process (a LOT of good info) but I want to see quantified results, i.e. hp before p&p was x hp after p&p is y...etc. If I'm looking at a 5-10% gain I'm not going to waste the time...25-50% gain is another story.
