    usually just a weight thing, power to weight ratio and for small wood they will get it done in fine fashion

    Yeah I think its both weight and handling. I guess they go hand in hand. I know I like the way a 044 feels verse 046. Plus all the hype on here about 044's make them better too!

    First clue that it's an 044 is the big filter plate. Some early models don't have that, but ALL later models that I know of do. 036 -- no big filter plate. 038 -- small round cover and no big filter plate. 046 -- big filter plate is covered by filter box.

    The 046 fuel tank sticks out 1 " further on the left side, the tank cover will almost line up with the face of the recoil.
