Well, I finally bought my Holy Grail of a chainsaw. I found it on Craigslist in Redding Ca. I drove 3hrs from Stockton and meet the gentleman and bought the saw for $300. It has a 24" bar, new chain, and it's been well taken care of. The guy I bought it from was the original owner and gave me the owners manual, an extra chain, chaps, spare spark plugs, and the original scrench. It is in great shape and fired right up.

Before I get bashed for not posting pictures, they will come a little later. I need my son to come over and show me how to do it. I just couldn't wait to post something that was very exciting to me.

Brian-

Glad to hear you got it. I actually drove down and was supposed to meet that same guy to buy it but he stood me up and then gave me a flimsy excuse about his dad not getting him a message. I'm glad it went to someone here.

handle bar stuff and oil tank, and cap. ( mines dented).

also air filter cover with or without logo.

:msp_smile:No, not a firewood saw. I have others for that. It will probably be more of a conversation piece than anything. It does sound very unique to say the least.

Wow that saw does look nice. Great catch on getting that. Looks like it was hardly ever used.

I hope I have a lead on getting one soon but trying to not get my hopes to high.

I just traded for one with what looks to be and they claimed was the original bar and chain on it.

I believe they were only made a couple of years. I don't know how long they were made by Echo for John Deere.
