Cant say I am on a first name basis with the guy, but he knows my face enough to know I aint from the EPA.

I called the dealer in the next town over, and deciding on honesty was the best way to avoid a repeat of last time and a wasted trip into town, I told him up front what was the deal.

He said that as long as the modification doesnt effect the part that went belly up, it had no bearing on a warranty repair as far as he was concerned. He flat out told me that if he turned away all pro saws that had been muffler modded he would have been out of business long ago. Most of his business comes from the logging companies in that area, and would be glad to hand over a coil if that was indeed the problem. I told him I had no doubt that it was the coil, when I swapped out the coil from my other 372 it ran fine. Reckon I will make the trip after work and get my new coil.

Yep, if the other dealer has you covered with no problems, make a purchase as a Thank You, and spend a little time getting to know him/them. A little gratitude goes a long way.
Never underestimate the power of the written word. Spelling is important, but poor sentence structure and bad puncuation are what can really come back to bite you on the ass.

I will take the "Pullon," "green brick," and "Crapsman" chainsaws that you don't want.

Human trash comes in all colors, including white.

If you're in a hurry, you buy a new module from us. Send us your old one on your dime with the owner information like date of purchase and serial number. We'll test it, submit the warranty, and as soon as it's ok'd, we credit you back including shipping to you.
The problem (this has happened but, rarely) is if your module checks good, we're going to send it back to you and bill you shipping.

Gregg, thanks a lot for that offer, now you know why I rarely deal with the dealers in my area, most of my parts come from you guys.
With a stand of large poplar looming over my head for Monday, I need this saw running sooner than what it would take to get it to you and back again, but never the less, I appreciate your offer. Not only are you a fine upstanding guy Gregg, but you do an excellent job in representing Baileys. Tell the boss man I said to give you a raise and a three day weekend!

Difference between a good dealer and not so good dealer. Your mod had nothing to do with the ignition. Sometimes common sense kicks in.
