I was waiting for some one to commit on the goats, I ask my buddy why every time someone walks in the goat pin that brown goat poses like that on a piece of wood??????
Sorry I had to go there.

Thanks for posting, boy that baby did the job all right. Glad I own it now, was thinking I spent my money needlessly.
Once you have run it for a while, think about a good proting job and see what the 660 can really do. THe 066 I have is great after Brad Snelling worked some of his magic on it.

I can't say that I really need more power than the mostly stock ms660 has, I don't cut trees like this every day, this is to date the biggest tree I have cut.
I had to cut it from both sides with a 36" bar.
The 660 sure does handle a 36" bar well, it was sank 100% in the tree and still seemed to have enuff power to run a longer bar if the operator runs the saw properly.

    After a good days work,

tiempo de para comer alguna cabrito.
Never underestimate the power of the written word. Spelling is important, but poor sentence structure and bad puncuation are what can really come back to bite you on the ass.

I will take the "Pullon," "green brick," and "Crapsman" chainsaws that you don't want.

Human trash comes in all colors, including white.

Mine does not seem to like to oil a 36", it seems to oil alot but not enuff to make me happy.
I carry an oil can with bar oil in it and after every large cut I run the oil can around the chain and give it a good soaking, this seems to keep
the bar and chain much cooler and should extend the life of my outfit.
I also have done the muffler mod /removed the inner cage / opened up the outlet to .7 inches, this seemed to help the saw and dropped the running temps.
I tend to run my saws on the rich side so their I loose some top end power but will gain in the life of the saw.
A 42" bar would be about as big as I would like to go, seems as it would stall much easier.
I could stall the 36" if I pushed it but as long as I did not push to hard and kept the rpm's up it would pull the 36 great at 100% penetration.

My 660 is an older model and I have an upgraded oiler. The 660 does not oil like the 066 in my opinion same with 440 the 044 oils better. The epa has gotten so ridiculous strict on Chainsaws!!

I would like to buy the upgraded oiler parts for my 660, does anyone know the part # for the parts I will need ?
I am not looking to buy the whole oil pump just the parts, I think from what I have seen that just the parts are cheaper.

I have a MS660 and I leave a 36" bar on it all the time for the big stuff. I added the dual port muffler and upgaded the oiler with the Australian piston and control bolt, if you do a search you can find the part numbers. If you plan on running the 36" bar alot I would strongly recommend it. The 660 is amazing with the bar buried in hard oak and the dual port screaming! You can tell the "posers" on her now, " if you can't run with the big dogs, stay on the porch"! Have fun and enjoy the 660
