so after this happened to my first 064/066 build I went looking through what parts I had left.. I found a oilier...

Ok anyway here is my spare parts for a 064..

Ok so now I have added a clutch oilier and tank to the list of parts...

I split the case this am and found a froze bearing. No surprise there... I also found the threads on the flywheel side of the crank are messed up and it looks like the bearings have spun on it..

Worth trying to fix or should I look for a new one??

Where can I find the part number? All I see is 1122 olm..

Thanks for looking..

If all that is wrong is that the threads are a little messed I'd use it. If the bearing has spun on the crank then it may be unusable. Is the bearing a tight fit on the crank? If so it'll be ok. Hows the big end bearing?

both are tight...

I know one was not so tight on my 046 and it has yet to let me down..

Thanks for the reply..

I don't know, you need a gauge. And I would no use a tap on it, they are for cutting new threads not fixing old ones, you need a thread chaser or a thread file.

K thanks...

mcmaster carr here I come...

Ok so How unlikely is this????

The crank case I am using is one that was given to me as extra parts for the 064 I have already built... On that saw a 066 head bolted with no mods needed..

Now I am still looking for parts for this build but for some reason it hit me lets try to dry fit the bad 064 cylinder I have and see what bolt pattern this has?? I'm thinking if the old head with the 066 bolt pattern fits then that is a bonus.. Well it bolts right up!!! So I guess I will be going 066 after all...

New problem and need help please..

I need a coil for this 064 build and I have been looking on the bay.. I noticed that coils listed for the 064 can be used on other models..

A sample list I pulled off the bay.. 024, 026, 028, 029, 039, 034, 036, 038, 044, 048, 064, ms240, ms260, ms290, ms310, ms390, ms340, ms360, ms380, ms381, ms440, ms640

So this caused me to go grab a 034 coil I have laying around and it does not fit... So my question is if this is a late model 064 with 066 head bolt specs is it possible that I need a 066 coil..

Now I do not have a ipl for the 066 so I am assuming that the coil from a 064 and 066 are different...

Here is the part number for the case half.. 9 1122 021 0700

Here is a pic..

Any info would be great thanks....

With that case, your 034 coil will be fine (It does match up with the top two mounting holes, Right?)......What flywheel # do you have???....We need to match a compatible flywheel.

EDIT: I'm second guessing myself.....That bolt pattern may only take the dogleg coil or the CDIC limited coil.....Let us know if your 034 coil will line up on the upper two bolt holes or not......Good dog leg coils aren't hard to find either.

Thanks for the reply!!!!

Went out to the shop and tore down my 064/066

It has different holes for the coil so I tried the 034 coil.. Bolted right up and the saw runs fine…

I take the coil from that saw which is much larger in the house and it bolts right up on this case half.. So I am still on track…

The part number for the flywheel is 1122 400 1201.... Does that sound right???

OK the only way you're gonna make it work is to use that coil from your other 064 (It's the "dog leg" coil) in this new build and use the 034 coil in your current runner......Your 1201 flywheel is the correct one for the coil in your last pic.

I had to edit again, as I re-read your post and see what coil you have in this empty case.
