Thread: Stihl 045AV Super Electronic might buy, advice appreciated!

my buddy came across a real good condition Stihl 045AV Super Electronic. He has the original owners manual, it comes with a 28" bar & chain and also a 20" bar and chain. I have a few questions about it, couldn't find much info on it. What is the electronic mean is that just the ignition system? Is it a good dependable saw? Does it use a .404 or 3/8 chain? What does the AV stand for? Currently I own a Stihl 170 i got brand new and is now pretty beat and Stihl MS362 with a 25" bar and a full skip chain and double bumpers, love that saw, but sometimes it struggles pulling the 25 incher so I want to get something with some more power. I like my bosses Jonsered CS2186 turbo but i'm just a Stihl guy. I use my chainsaw almost daily working on the farm we do alot of sawmill work and excavating work. He wants $250 for the 045 it comes with them 2 bars and chains, a chainguard, and the original owners manual. Starts up and runs great, looks like real good condition. What do yawl think?
