    another freebie today,, not much but runs dang good

    got this from the echo dealer today,, the customer didn't want to have it fixed and never picked it up,, i figured it owuld need carb kit and lines but that was in good shape,,, all i found wrong with it was the carb was set way to rich and they had been using nasty fuel,, here are the before pics of it,, i also made 2 vids,, i hate to say but this saw will out cut the 400 i built the other day for him



    husky 346xp 16" b/c muff modded and tuned masterminded
    husky 372xp with 20" b/c muff modded and tuned masterminded
    ms170 mm'd and adjustable carb with 14" b/c



    so glad to be part of the AS family
    i may be an old fart but i can learn

    got her all cleaned up and did a MM and stuck a 12" b/c,, personally anything over 16 is just way to much for this saw,, it just balances out good with the 12 on it,,, vids will be coming shorty,, waiting for them to down load

    Did you open up the outlet as well? Some pics of the one I did for my Craftsman version: Muffler Mod for 42cc Craftsman

    I have the 18" bar on it and find it well suited, but different folks have different expectations. I use it often and it's always dead-reliable. Choke lever is in a really stupid location though.

    I had a couple of the 42cc poulans open up the mufflers they turn in to a different saw.. there no power house but they get the job done

    I have a PP 260 also. It came with a scored piston and ring. So I tore it down replaced it widened the exhaust just alittle while I was in there and modified the Muffler. I have a 16" 3/8 low profile bar and chain. This little thing really cuts well for what it is. I also found this to be a really simple saw and easy to work on. I think you got a great little saw and the best part, you did not have to pay for it. Here is a pic.

    Was that a CS400 you mentioned that thing out cut? Just curious, but if so, was something wrong with the Echo?

    LOL - what's a "box saw"? If it were a plastic Stihl MS250 built out of the same materials with the same basic construction would it still be a box saw? Sometimes this place is like listening to a bunch of foreign car snobs - you mention a Poulan and it's like talking about a Ford to a bunch of Audi, BMW and Mercedes guys.

    wasn't anything wrong with the echo,, i had just built it,, just seems to me this little poulan cut faster

    i more then doubled the opening on the muffler itself and also as you can see in the one pic i drilled the baffle out which double the openings,,
    i have a 16" bar that i think i will settle with,, i just need to spin up a chain for it,,

    Anything else will outcut an Echo of the same size, so that doesn't tell much.
