.015 squish is an ideal #, but may be a little close for a 60 cc work saw, but I'd roll with it...
Run 20 tanks through it... By then you'll know what it's capable of...
I'd say it generally is wise to take the exaust and the transfers up a little to compensate for the drop of the cylinder, but otherwise take them out on the sides, not at the top, unless you want a screamer with a narrow power band.

    I don't know, that's a Stout Deere!

I'm goin to cut the squish band and base, if I can figure out how to do it on my lathe. Otherwise I'll drop it off at Stumpy's. Hopefully before the GTG...

You'll like the results... I think even more important than a tight squish, cutting the band makes for a much tighter and precise combustion chamber...

What size wood are you comparing the two saws in? Throw a 24" bar on both with 3/8" chain, cut some 24" wood and then tell us which is faster.

It doesn't surprise me one bit, my 372 will outcut my 395 in wood up to 28".

I agree 100%, but it'll never have a 24 on the 262 nor will the 346 ever wear more than a 18, my 372 wears a 24 and i have a 298 for the big stuff, so far i've been cutting in 16-18 inch hard wood. oh and my 346 out cuts my 298 in anything under 16 inches too i just thought a 60cc should be able to out grunt it... i've got one tank through it and i'd like to say it feels stronger or almost equal now. Honestly it feels stronger.

Well that's your problem. 16-18", of course the 346 will out cut it. That size wood is considered branch wood out here.

18 inch dry oak is equall to what in soft wood??? And at what point does the 346 start cutting slower than the 262. At 20 is when the 372 starts for me and anything larger than 24 the 298 takes over.if the 346 should out cut a 262 in 18 inch wood i just dont need it. Or port this 262to out cut a stock 372????
