Get a safety chain if you don't know the difference. When you are more experienced you will slowly crossover to the "dangerous" side.

All (full) Chisel, All the Time!

I know it conventional wisdom says don't use a full chisel chain in dirty wood, but frankly, I haven't seen that as a problem. I do a lot of trail building, cutting of stumps at the ground (in the dirt), and frankly I don't see any degradation worse than my old chipper chain. The chisel simply cuts so much better so much of the time.

I love the Husqvarna file guide (with the 2 little rollers). It is fast and easy to use, and it works!

Sooooooooooo, I would go with a (Stihl) full chisel chain and a Husqvarna file guide. Have someone take your picture, because there will be a big smile on your face.

Most Huskys will be .058, some .050. I've never seen .063 on a Husky, that's more of a Stihl thing...

There is no problem using chisel in dirty conditions, but Semi chisel will stay sharp noticeably longer. And be easier to fix if a rock is hit... Also semi cuts almost as fast. I can tell little difference in cutting speed, but I know how to sharpen semi...

That kit is not a good one imo, the Husky roller/raker guide combo is much better!

If so, it is a misprint. BPX is the semi chisel version of the LPX, in .325.

Micro chisel is a variant of semi chisel, with a narrower radius on the corner than some other semi chisel.

Their "green" chisel chain in .325 is the SL, with "sharkfin" tie straps - a pretty hopeless chain....

I wouldnt worry too much about brands of round files or raker files. Just don't buy no cheapies. The stihl files work good, save edge, pferd, nicholsen, etc are all good files.

I looked up the Oregon site, and they clearly state Micro Chisel, which is Semi Chisel - so no misprint there.
