Honestly, I've been VERY hesitant to run anything 100:1, but after hearing that from my dealer, and watching my FIL run all his 2strokes on it for the last 5yrs w/ NO problems, it starts to make you wonder.
So there you have it...grab your bucket of sand and get pouring.
I've been using it for awhile without any problems.. I mix it at 70:1 in all my saws and 100:1 in all my trimmers... It works great.

Thanks for all the input. I just read on the back of the bottle, "It is okay to mix at a richer ratio if wanted". I guess I'll split the difference and run somewhere in between.

I run them right from new at 70:1 and have had good luck so far...

Sounds about what I figured on. I'm sure the 100:1 would work...it has for a few years now for my FIL, but somewhere in the back of my head it worries me.

"run 6hrs/day for the last 3 years on Amsoil." Hey, are you in need of some ocean front property? I've got a great deal on some!
6 hours a day for 3 years is around 4600 hours. I find this very hard to believe given that a pro logger in my area gets around a year to year and a half out of a saw.

Hey...I'm just passing on what a Stihl dealer told me. If you can't trust a Stihl dealer, who can you trust..

I have around 3500 hours on my 2171 with Husky XP oil at 50 to one. It's still runs fine, but who knows if the compression might have slipped some.

Took the 7900 out w/ my wife, kid, mom and dad.. Got my parents a little over 4 cords and most was sawn w/ my new Dolmar. My dad had his 044 (woods ported), and 064 with him. I made the mistake of asking him if he wanted to try my new saw out.... I spent the rest of the day sawing w/ his 44 while he put gas through my 7900. He asked where he could find one of those saws
I've got about 6 tanks through her now, and the power is picking up noticably. I'm sure any other comparable saw would get the job done, but I'm really happy w/ my new saw.

I've only had mine a week, but I'd recommend the 7900 from my experience so far. I've let my dad and my father in law both try it out and both commented on it's balance, feel, and power. I finally got some bigger wood for her today (3 doug fir over 30" dbh) and I was impressed w/ the saws ability to the pull the full comp 93driver chain through the bigger wood, even w/ the rakers taken down. Try one out...you won't be dissapointed.
