Arrow Oregon 511A vs Tecomec FL136 Grinders

Is anyone familiar with the diferences in these two grinders? They look to be virtually identical, except for coloring. The Tecomec is Italian made and I believe that I've read somewhere that the 511A is made in Italy as well. I'm just curious about all this due to having just bought a 511A (still waiting on its arrival). There just really seems to be quite alot similarity in these two grinders. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I have seen both of these grinders up close and in use. My brother in law uses a Oregon 511A and a friend of mine who is our local Jonsered Dealer, uses the Tecomec. Both of these grinders look almost identical except for the paint color and in some cases, the handle. I believe the motors in both of these grinders are the same and both of these grinders are made in Italy.

The only thing I can add to this is that my friends Tecomec was just replaced yesterday after being in use for 3 years in his shop (Granted, he runs a commercial saw shop) and the 511A has been in use for over 10 years (but not as much use as the Tecomec)

Both are good grinders IMO, and I'm sure that you'll be happy with your 511A

No problem ... I just wish I had the money at the time to order the 511A. I went with the $85.00 Northern and to be honest with you, I have no complaints with it. It does a great job on all my chains, but if I was using it commercially ... I don't know how it would hold up.

    Enjoy!

I've heard the NT grinder/sharpener is a very decent grinder...it seemed to be such the case that I ordered two myself at $85 each. However, while waiting on their arrival I talked myself into a 511A. Now...I'll probably get rid of atleast one of the NT grinders; probably just give it as a present to a friend in need. At $85 bucks a piece...they're not a bad gift for a person who likes this kind of stuff.

Looking For A Part to a Grinder

I have a Bench Grinder it's a FL136. What I'am looking for is the little , I don't know what it is called , but its the little plate in front of the grinder that gives you the degrees and angle of the cut. If anyone has any information about this or where I can get one , please let me know.
