Did my first "Lakeside" 361 muffler mod today...local Stihl dealer FINALLY got parts in. Gonna post pics tomorrow after painting and baking. I actually found the pipe at the True Value hardware store. It was thicker wall than I wanted, so I drilled out the ID until the TS400 screen fit. Like I said, pics to follow tomorrow.

Here is my try at Lakeside style 361 muffler mod. Im VERY happy with the difference in performance, I am not kidding, its like a different saw. The paint I did something wrong on this muffler. It isnt going to be strong like the 064 muffler I did, yet this muffler was prepped better and was cleaner to start before painting. Oh, well, when I wear enough paint off to annoy me I will paint it again, or just use it.

All credit on this mod is to Lakeside53, this was his brainchild. I have to tell ya, its a very classy looking mod, and it works VERY well on the 361. Im amazed at the difference in performance and sound! Thanks Andy!!!

muffler mod

This is my buddy's 361 that I modded last weekend, it is a walker style mod. This mod really perked up this saw, and sounds better too........:greenchainsaw:

I ran a tank through it before I took the pics, thats how I realized the paint wasnt right. Killed the limiter tabs after mounting the muffler, tuned with a tach, than fine tuned by ear, and went to work on some hackberry. Brought the saw home and took pics.

Andy, I'm sorry if I missed it if you posted it, but where do you get the screen for your 16mm mod? That is I.D. right? I am dying to try your mod on my 361. Thanks, Burv

From the Stihl dealer. Ask for a muffler screen for a Stihl TS400 cut off saw.
