hi i have a new 346 xp with green gas cap.I am looking at Baileys at a muffler.
I am curious as to the process of changing it out. Also if done will it be same as a non e tech 346

but I like the green one lol ,Di I just remove the 2 star screws on the front of the old muffler? and remove it it,and the other one bolt on.

easy

I just did it on my 2153. Piece of cake. You can do it with the bar still on or remove it to make slightly easier. I used the a Dremel to grind off the stops on the mixture screws. I paid $30 for the muffler from my dealer. It is from a 2152 and is exactly the same as my older 346 (no baffle). The newer Jonsereds and Husqvarnas are very close to identical but my dealer says he get fooled on parts interchanges often. By the way-- it does make it better.

I am looking at Baileys at a non epa muffler.would I need to take it to my dealer to have carb set up after

Unless you can do it yourself - I'd tend to say yes!

Buy a tach, it will be useful, and can provide some fun as well.......;)

Don't forget the bolts down in the tubes.........

If your 346 is like the other 3XX Huskies, there are also 2 larger bolts 4 or 5mm hex bolts down inside the tubes of the muffler that you can't see very easily. I have switched the muffler on 2 359's and I strongly reccommend spraying/soaking the bolts in the support bracket in the front of the muffler and ESPECIALY THE BOLTS IN THE TUBES THAT HOLD THE MUFFLER TO THE CYLINDER. I used a product called Aerokroil, but there are other penetrating lubricants that work fine.

I would also reccommend using a dremel to grind off the tabs on the limiter caps. But first you will have to clip off the little plastic sleeve that goes around the limiter caps. A pair of needle nose or small diagonal cutters will work fine.
