    Modding a 385.

Who's done this with good results? Is Walkers saw shop still walkerizing? I've got a 359, 372 and 385. I want them all modded. It's not a question of me doing the work, it's more a question of me finding the time to do the work. No days off for the next 2 months etc.

Anyways, how does the 385 respond to mods? Anything like the 372 or 359? My neighbors got a few 372's with tons of work done to each of them. They are nothing but a joy to run. I wonder if I can get the same effect from a 385? (It's no slouch, but more is better right?)

    Thanks,
    Chad.

My 385 is modded, I did the muffler on it. It kicks A$$......plain and simple..... I log everyday, It pulls it's 24" GB bar with full authority. But 385's are known to respond well to mods. Gypo logger, and old member on here has 4 rippin' modded 385's done by Ken Dunn......they, git er' done... Gypo's 385's will turn a modded 066 inside out...

You will get better gains from a 385/390 then a 372. I have done all three about a dozen times over and am amazed at what I can get from the 385/390.But... the 372 does pretty darn good too.
