which one is preferred for walnut , and is it different because of the thicker sapwood ?
Whistler
A doyle rule is preferred for Walnut because the sapwood is not desirable.Doyle rule is a scale of square wood from a round log assuming that 2" of slab will be takin away on each face which is about right on Walnut but Doyle rules are only legel in some states. If you are selling walnut it is best for you to have it scaled with 1/4" or SDC. Seth
