There is no writing left on it, and I only see a ser# tag. It is my Dads old saw and I haven't used it in years. He replaced it with a 2171, which is similar in size.

Saving the US from China, one American made purchase at a time.
So far, the pics I can find of a 70E are very close... You guys are good!
I will try to get pictures on here tomorrow, I have to go to work.....
Here, look at Mike Acres library:

Its probably in there somewhere.
Since everyone is taking blind guesses, I will go with 625, 630 or 670![]()
I don't even think it's a J-red, probably a Shindaiwa 695.....![]()

I took a couple pictures along with the 2171. Looks like a 70E to me, from looking at other pictures of them?
It looks like a 70E, with a slim chance it is a 66E. They look the same, but the 66E has a smaller bore and is very rare compared to the 70E. It could be a 70 as well, depends if it has points or not.
OK thanks. I don't recall ever having to change points, in 30+ years, so I am guessing it is one of the E models. I need to open it up and see what parts it needs. The saw shop told him a couple years ago, that they couldn't get parts, or it would cost too much, and it was time to buy a new one. I figured with internet now, I might find used stuff it needs.
