    Work saws

I getting kind of tired of seeing all these posts of brand new saws without a speck of dust on 'em. So I snapped a couple of pics of my working girls today. Both the 064 and the 026 came from a pawn shop. The 064 was $200 and the 026 was $150. I spent a bit more to get them "right". I mixed up some 93 gas w/o and methonal and Stihl Ultra. WOW that ultra sure is different. NO smoke and very little smell. WDO

to good deals, especially on that 064. All my saws are filthy and busted up but run well enough with tinkering.

Purty pics. Today was absolutely gorgeous out. I too had to get the saws out and clean up some deadfall along the fence lines. The first thing I noticed w/ ULTRA was the lack of smoke....
    Lets build something to break.

I use Ultra because of the smell honestly. Admittedly a stupid reason but a better reason than believing that it will mystically improve the performance of the saw. The carbon reducing properties are another benefit.

    Talking clean sawz suck

me i just run the saw. only thing that they get is air hose job after a big job. keeping the bar and chain and air filter clean is all i worry about. i figure it protects a saw if it is kept dirty, scum bags are less likely to want to borrow them is my theory. my sawz are work beasts not beauty pageant specials

The smaller 36" tree is a Pine of some kind. The other is a huge rotten Oak. Both of these were at my SILs house in the panhandle of Florida. The Pine was solid and it was going to be used to make bumpers for an old steam engine being restored at the city museum next door. This is in logging country for paper manufacturing.

Here's what happened to the pine stump in their front yard.

Usually I can't stop to take a pics when I'm working or have a person to take the pictures. But these were sort of working progresses. Saws were $200, $100, and $250. $250 or the 026. lol

    Saws ready to work

One of the first load, ended up with about 4-5 truck loads easy.

Second day after one good day of limbing and splitting.

Brad, whats all the sweat for. You are to work the beast, not let the beast work you. Nice lawn chair! I made a bench out of pine but my butt keep sticking to the sap in the summer time.

    Work saws

    Whitedogone,

Nice photos of work with some good saws. I'd like to run into those deals also.

Photos reminded me of my days growing up on farm in western Illinois (Adams County). Always was a pain keeping the hedge apple trees cut back in fence rows and out of the fields. Seemed like even being careful you would hit some darn barb wire in a tree.

Gizz, not too many hedgerows left (warren co.). We have one farm that still has a large/long one on it. I know what you mean about the fence. And the damn torns and twisted limbs. Sure does burn nice though. WDO

Floriday heat and humidity in the upper 90s is something to experience. We get similiar temps and humidity here in Ohio, but the direct rays of the sun in FL make the heat way more intense. I think I worked myself into heat exhaustion that day!
