stihl info on web? manual or breakdown

Is there some place I can download an owners manual, or more info on a stihl 046. I checked the stihl site, ask via email there and they said they would "send me one in a future mailing", which I imagine means sometime in the distant future. I would like to look at a parts breakdown, how the bar nuts mount, and just other wouldnt that be nice to know info. I bought a shop manual off ebay but would like some answers now.

I did a search on here on Bar nuts, bar bolts and the like but did not find what I was looking for.

    Thanks, JB

I have requested an owner manual from Stihl on two occasions for two different products. Both times, new owner manuals arrived within a week. I may have a shop manual for the 046 at home. I would be willing to copy or fax you any info you request from it, (once I find it). Dave

If they arrive that fast then I am not so worried. Thanks very much for the offer on the manual pages. I will wait on that as mine should ship today. I was just hoping to find something online.

johncinco, as I suspected, I have an IPB for the 046 with part numbers from the year 2000 and a service manual for the 046 also. Drop me an email if there's anything you need. Dave

Toneman, I see that http://www.stihl.ca/ doesn't have a direct method for requesting manuals as does the U.S. company.  Have you tried asking stihl.ca through their contacts link?

    Call Stihl

CAll them and they will mail a free manual out to you.
At least I know Stihl USA will.

You can also order them online through the support side on the USA site.

Let me be a little less vague.

I speculate the reason Toneman's not getting one when (if) using that request page is because it's Stihl USA and he's Canadian.

Perhaps the contact info for Stihl Canada listed at http://www.stihl.com/kontakt/weltwei...el_amerika.htm will be helpful.
