PayPal / Ebay "Holding Funds" on Sales !

PayPal, & their low-life owner Ebay, have been "Holding Funds", on items sold.
Many chainsaws fall in this category.

Any thoughts / reactions or ideas how to get funded and still be secure as a
    seller ?
    Thanks.

It's super tough to ever get a direct answer from Ebay or PP.
Usually a just a form statement...

From what I gather, if a seller has less than 100 "FeedBack[s]" and the item sells for over $100. , they hold the funds -- for up to [21] days.
    This is NOT a sellers % rating, i.e., 100%.

Wanna ship a Mac 125 to someone w/out clear funds????
    It stinks.

They won't allow you to post in the ad that you will take money orders either.

They hold the funds until: 1: signature/delivery is confirmed.....2: Buyer leaves positive feedback...3: 21 days lapses.

Then it takes 3-5 business days for the money to be put in your account. Ask me how I know...

I am not a new seller by any stretch, I have sold a fair amount of items in the past couple months with no issues. PayPal does wait until certain payment methods clear for the money to be yours to use from your account, I wait until it clears before sending the item. The buyers have understood that so far.

The issue up for discussion here is new to me, but no surprise. I won't ship things until I have cleared funds.

Seems to me this will backfire on them, they will be losing business when people have to work that hard and wait that long for their money. It's all about the buyer, heck, we can't even give a buyer a negative feedback.

Ebay has started to suck. The last time I listed a saw, I had to have some type of electronic payment. Most guys like me won't have a CC machine, so gaypal was the only option. I don't want to pay gaypal fees and added to the description that the buyer should add 3% to the final bid to cover the fees. My listing was closed and I was told that I could not charge for the gaypal fees. I was MAD!!!! Darned if you do, darned if ya don't. Screw ebay/gaypal and the horse they rode in on.

Thats pretty much how I feel about it. Ebay started out a wonderful thing, then, as all good things do, it got all screwed up from people abusing it and from ebay and paypal's greed.

When I collect for my last 2 items, Im done.

Listing fee, final value fee, buy-it-now fee, paypal fee and the list goes on and on and on..................

Being out of work, I have used Ebay as a tool to liquidate some things I don't need along with some saw sales. If there was another site to sell on that had the same exposure for less fees, I would gladly try it.

You can say screw ebay/paypal, but if you want to sell, it is a monopoly so bend over...

Hint... for $100 or so sales.... add in 5% to the estimated freight as a "handling charge". That covers the paypal fees...

I just assume I'll give away 10% to ebay/paypal, and does it really matter? The final bids can be +/- 50%...

Using that crap hole will be my last resort to buy/sell something.

I have been doctoring the shipping charges for awhile now, works like a charm. People in the know just factor it in on how much they are willing to bid, it's that simple......for most.
