Which one of you took that J-red 111S?

Okay, the bidding is over so we can all break our silence on this one and quit pretending that we didn't know about it.

    VINTAGE-RARE-MONSTER JONSERED 111S-RUNS, NEEDS REPAIR.
    Item number: 290305046064

I was outbid, but was bidding manually and didn't have a snipe working for me.

    So who won this saw?

Went pretty cheap if it was in that good of mechanical condition. Out of my league, but reasonable.
I used to own one saw...until I found this site!

Hah, Don't I wish, but I didn't buy it but I was watching it. I haven't been in the J-red section for awhile but I did see it today and bookmarked it to see what it would go for. I thought it was reasonable myself comparing it to the one that was listed a few months ago with the 42 in bar. Besides I don't have that kind of money right now to be bidding on the higher end saws. I have to get my hands on some stimulus money

I would like to find one of those 111's for my J-red collection but I am sure there are others out there with the same goal. Going to have to fight for it that is for certain. Almost as bad as fighting for a Homey 750 or an 090.

If it is like anything like any of those other older Jonsereds it will have some torque to it.

A cut above the rest, because I'm the best.

Don't ask how many saws I have because I lost count.

There has been a huge amount of Jred 111S saws sold on ebay lately. I am not sure there have been any 111 saws. In any event it has been a odd time.

    Is it also very running?

If so, I would expect you to get close to what that 111S went for. If you polished it up nice and pretty and took a lot of good pics, then took some time writing a good description - you may even surpass it by a decent margin.

On the other hand, it is ebay so maybe you'd only get to $200.

Just don't put your starting bid at $1000 like that 625 or you might end up with a lonely auction.

I didn't really have money set aside to buy that saw, but figured I'd go up to 3 on that one anyway. I won't bother kicking myself for not adding a bit to that since I'm pretty sure that the winner would have added a bit plus a dollar to his max bid.

About that 750 you mentioned ... is that one of those older Homelites that is desirable? I prefer Jonsereds, but if I ever come across one of those older desirable saws I will likely try and grab one. If I see a saw that is really, really old, then I will grab it regardless and restore it like that mono 48 or one of pioneerguy600's restorations.

I didn't hear a peep from you during the auction and I actually thought that you might end up with that saw. Did you bid on it?

No, money is a little tight right now. I just had to buy a new computer, so that put a $1200 dent in my saw fund. I think I am going to hold off on the 111 for a few years anyways, as it seems parts are hard to find and expensive when they do show up.

I need to get this damn 80 going. I am kicking around the possibility of having someone else split the case and install the bearings.

Hey bob, I would expect that cherry 90 to go for at least $250 and up to $350. As someone mentioned before, it is ebay so it is a gamble. If you don't need to sell it right now, I would wait until fall. Saw prices seem to be pretty low on Ebay now and imagine they will go up towards the end of summer into the fall.

Or........I will give you $100 for it.

and thanks again for the 80 parts.

Do you have the means to install the bearings?

If so, I could fab up a puller like Mark's and mail it to you. I could test fit it on my 80 so it would fit for sure.

Thats the problem, once I get the case split I don't have a press to get the bearings back in. I have all the tools to get it apart (minus the puller like mark's) but putting it back together correctly is another ball game.
