I'm bored. I need a project, but I'm flat broke. I did a search and couldn't find anything on the subject. I've never tried porting a saw, but really want to start. Any opinions on whether it would even be worth it to try?

Its really not that hard to do. Just take your time when removing any material. Lots of reading on porting on this site. It took me awhile before I attempted it but my 390xp turned out real good. My 372xp will be the next victim.
i remember a ported 290 video from youtube. seems like it out cut some 80cc saw.
I think that 290 also had a 390 piston/cylinder as well as a muffler mod and porting. I would give it a try and if you screw up there are lots of aftermarket parts on ebay
I guess I'll give a go then. I've spent most of time browsing and reading old threads about porting. I've learned quite a bit. I'll be busy as hell until finals are done next week, but after that, it's go time. I'll warn you all now, be prepared for lots of questions.
