Thread: Halifax County, VA Heritag Festival Pics & Videos

Here are some pictures and videos taken of the chainsaw exhibit that Dean Coates, David Harsh, and I (Mitchell Martin) had at the 6th anual Halifax County Heritage Festival. We had quite a few saws and logs to demonstrate with. I brought 8 of my saws listed in my sig, Dean brought 5 two-man saws and about 8 one-man saws, and David Harsh brought a small portion of his poulan chainsaws, including his model 44 two-man with a bow bar. We had a 30" piece of white oak and two pieces of poplar that measured in excess of 36".

Here is some of my saws. I think that the Pro Mac 700 and the SP125 make a great pair.

Yeah...It was hot as hell! I'm getting chaps for my birthday. My birthday is May 8th.

Where was this? I'm from that area and have cousins, aunts and uncles that live in Halifax and South Boston. I even own a peice of property near Clarksville. This looks like an annual event, so please update with info if you can for next years event. Would like to work it in the schedule. Or PM me with any information you think might be interesting. Thanks!

It's always held the weekend before Mother's Day. I think that I posted it on here earlier to tell people about it. There is another event coming this October, I was told, in Oxford, NC. Dean talked to the guy and I think that they will have room for us. David Harsh came from Amilia, VA to cut with us and show some of his saws. It would have been great to have had you there. PM me with your info so we can keep in touch. Maybe you could ride up one weekend and see mine and Dean's saws.
