I really do recommend a disconnect switch on batteries. So many times it seems to be too much trouble to disconnect the battery when working on a vehicle. And, of course, you have to reset things in these modern things (not so with my hand crank to start Land Rover), With a knife switch it's a no tool necessary job to disconnect the battery. Well worth the time to install. Just like tying in twice-you don't need to often but it's real nice every once in a while.

No It was not because. It was equipped with grass burner, investigators determined to be electrical, under dash or close.
But that what I thought started it but who am I to argue.

The funny thing is that there was a six pack sitting right in front of the garage. Which was left in the car from one of my trips up north and got cooked in the sun turning it to skunk water

    Wow. What a shame.
Does anybody keep full coverage insurance on their bucket truck? I don't and a fire like this would be a big loss. I think full coverage is really expensive on a bucket. I'm surprised to hear about so many fires.

Wow, glad to hear you have full coverage. Looks like it was a nice truck. I've had several "leaf fires" in the vent of my old F150 (I guess the fan motor brushes must spark and set off the accumulated leaf dust) but so far the fire goes out and all I do is roll the window down to clear the smoke so I can see.

The only issues will be more possible leaks. It will definitely be more stable and weight you will have to watch the wet areas. Is it tandem rears?Diesel is it like mine brazilian ford 6.6 or 7.8 or is it cat?

Yes, that's a 1,2,3 thing. The thing is that that's "big wheels" on a tree service that is still a "little frame." When I get my advertising all tightened up, a bucket is the necessary step to take.

By the way my business is ticking at this stage, I'd need to bring in this spring and summer's work from my new advertising plan first. Better paying customers pay for rigs. My current line of customers aren't the clientel to put me on the list of askers for OTM's bucket. Like shifting too high too soon in a truck n' just making the motor drown out there are steps in the sequence to take in operating a tree service before expanding into rigs and employees.

Just my watering mouth, how much would that bucket go for in that condition? That's a bunch of work to be done on it, but I bought my dump truck at a low price to do a bunch of work on it.

Oz, you'd loose money by fixing it before selling it. You'd spend your time and energy on it instead of at the trees, and wind up in the hole. It's best to sell it for what it was worth before the fire minus the total parts and shop cost to bring it back to snuff. Take some money for a "sinking boat," and put it back out there for someone else to pay to put it back into the action.

My bet is that old ford will be scrapped and sent to china. It is not worth putting good dollars into jmo.

Insurance my friend, have not even been back to kick a tire.
As far as fixing not as hard as one might think.Remove bed and put on new chassis and cab. And yes it will be salvaged at what price I don't know.
