    tree companies

I thought that with the thread about the density of liscensed arborists in the area, that we might have a little fun taking a look at some yellow page adds.

There are 133 tree companies listed in the Westchester / Putnam county yellow pages "tree service" section.

Here are a few things that stuck out from the ads in the tree service section as spelled by the companies:

    Land Clearance
    Land Cleaner
Tree Pruning & Tree Trimming in the same ad.
Pruning, Topping, and Trimming listed in the same ad.
Tree Surgeon & Cavity Work in the same ad.
    Feeding
    Feeding
    Feeding
Root Feeding & Cavity work in the same ad.

    For my finale...
"Tree Work And Wetland Clearing" - from the landscraper's section.

For anybody who has done work around wetlands, or who has worked around here... you all know that clearing wetlands will bring out a government sponsored lynch mob.
(The fine around here for DUMPING on wetlands is $5,000) You are not allowed to cut anything in them, or plant anything in them without getting a permit first.

This ad looked interesting. Our guarantee, "FOR ONE FULL YEAR,IF ANY TREE THAT WE HAVE TRIMMED* SUFFERS DAMAGE DURING A STORM, WE WILL RETURN AT ABSOLUTELY NO COST TO YOU AND TRIM OR REMOVE IT." Then under it in fine, very small print reads (*class 1 /crown cleaning prune)

I have a habit of looking in the yellow pages whenever I'm out of town, checking out the local tree co.
Anyway, I was checking out the Baton Rouge YP, and this guy had a close-up(waist up) pic of him, stepping up a pine. In color.
He was fully geared up, with a hardhat, eye protection, gloves, all the required PPE. Except one thing... NO shirt!
You could tell he was all bowed up, I guess he was appealing to the widows and the nancy boys. HA!
