So you've noted you can't use [ when describing the codes, and are using { instead?  That's what I'll understand you to be doing, and I'll do it too.

{quote} and {/quote} surround the text to be quoted (thus displayed in the separate little "box").  You'd type {quote}, then paste your quoted text, then type {/quote}.  Alternatively, you can quote the whole thing and if you want to answer in the middle of it and then resume the quote, you'd insert a {/b} (if there's an "open" {b} (usually is)) then a {/quote}. That will close the little blocked section and return you to "normal" looking text.  Don't forget to insert a {quote}{b} before the remaining quoted part to reinstate the quoted box and the bold typeface.

It doesn't matter what all is "open", be it {quote}, {b}, {i}, etc.  They can be invoked in any order, but when they have been "opened", they must be "closed" ({/whatever}) in strict reverse order, but they don't have to be all closed at one time (unless it's the end of the "job").

More later if you want it.

    Glen

I'd thought that was the baseline you were already working from Derek, and that you'd wanted to either reply within the quote to specific things then return to the quote, or to reply to quotes from multiple respondents simultaneously.

What do they say in Oz about making assumptions?&nbsp; We sometimes say "when you <u><b>assume</b></u>, you make an <b><u>ass</u></b> out of (yo)<b><u>u</u></b> and <u><b>me</b></u>".&nbsp; <font size="-2">(note I use differing orders in the font modifiers, "quote" (button) this post and look at the source if you're interested)</font>

Derek, when you get good at <font color=red size=3>html</font> tags, you can do stuff like this:

    <center><em><font face=batang color=blue size=5>Hello, mate!</font></em></center>

    and this:

    <marquee><font color=green size=4>Hello, mate!!</font></marquee>

But like you said, bottom of the rope eh?
