Hello all
I am rebuilding an older Husqvarna 51 for my wife as she wants to start using a chainsaw.
The saw is about ready to run, with all new gaskets, new seals, new ring, etc. I put a carb kit in (full kit - including welch plug), but do not have the Walbro metering lever gauge to set the metering lever height.
Can anyone give me a measurement on how far into the carb body the metering lever should be?
As an alternative, can I just use the old metering lever and assume that it is set to the correct height?
Also, when I stripped this carb it only had a metering diaphragm and no corresponding gasket. Did some of these WT carbs run that way? The saw was seized up when I got it, and I am not sure if someone messed with the carb and left out the gasket when re-assembling it. I do not want to put one in there "just because" or it will really be out of whack.
The only way I could get the saw to run yesterday was by holding the throttle in the WOT position. Without touching the throttle, the saw was flooding.
- the H, L, and T are all set to basic setting.
- new plug, new fuel filter, air filter clean
- ignition gapped to 0.012"
Thanks
